I can't believe how big Isaiah's getting! He turned 6 yesterday!!! Soon, (well, in less than 2 months) he will be the big brother of another baby! It seems like he was just a baby...changing his diapers, seeing that beautiful boy just giggle and smile. Here's the cute boy eating some birthday cake (illegally poking his fingers in the frosting with his brother Jake and two other cousins)! Oh to be young again....

And oh yeah...they got a new tramp in the backyard too! This is the coolest thing ever!!

Thanksgiving Singing
Who would have thought that a busy day of visiting family and more family would end with another huge feast and singing with friends. Check out these cuties singing their hearts out to Matthew Johnston jams!
Then the girls come in....
We had so much fun going through my silly pink i-Pod and singing along.
Thanksgiving was very very special, because I got to spend it with a huge majority of the people I love and care for. I do, however, wish I could have had other folks around too (but they're all in other countries!!). It was great to catch up with everyone on both sides of the family, and eat some really amazing food all day long.
Thank you Lord for blessing me with such a wonderful family...such wonderful friends...and such an amazing day of spending time with them all. I didn't even mind having to go to the grocery story twice before noon! It was all a part of the experience!
I hope you all had wonderful Turkey Days as well...check out Joyous Pics for more of the happenings!

Which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Are You?
![]() Donatello You've been described as 'the brains' of your family or group of friends. You're the natural born, 'Mr. Fixit'. You're also considered the most reserved, preoccupied with your own little thoughts and ideas. But that doesn't mean you don't hang with your family and friends! But, you still find it easy to get lost in your own thoughts...daydreaming often. You'd rather talk things out than fight. You long for a day when there's nothing but peace in the world, and when you can finally rest with your own thoughts. Violence is something the world could completely live without. One of your labels may be, 'true to blue friend'. You're strong at heart and powerful at mind. | |

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving!
Strangely enough, I'm really enjoying the idea of fall this year. I am so stoked for Turkey Day...I can't even begin to express how excited I am. I get to share the day with all of my families, so that makes me even more happy!
This weekend, I got to check out Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell. I especially enjoyed this movie because it kicked off the holiday movie spree I always seem to go on. Not only was it funny, I appreciated the noble content and positive message. It is more importantly void of any kind of inappropriate humor or distasteful "color." Next on my list of movies to see will be Happy Feet. Now, although it's a cartoon, I'm betting this will also be enjoyable.
If anyone needs a place to be for Thanksgiving, give me a shot out. I'd be happy to include you on the family festivities!!
Ready to get my eat on.....

Family Night Sock-Hop
We can do some really fun stuff at church--which included a Family Night with a 50's Sock-Hop Theme! It was really cool because our mass was even lead by Fr. Bob (who was around pre-Vatican II). He was able to describe the differences in the mass experience from then and now, and he even did some of the prayers in Latin. It was beautiful!
We concluded the evening with a dance, root beer floats, and hamburgers! IT WAS A BLAST!
Check out Mikey and me dancin' away!

Battle Against Darkness

I was driving one early morning this week to meet with my Bible study for an early morning rendezvous. On my way, I was driving west, towards the beautiful Rocky Mountains. At one point, I started driving north and was driving along the brink line between light and darkness. It was actually surreal to think about. That my driving line matched up perfectly with the sun's perpetual battle against the darkness. I mean, there were black and grey menacing clouds to the west and brilliant sunlight shining from the east. The sun is always chasing away the darkness.
Then it hit me...the Son's perpetual battle against the darkness must be even more dramatic to see.
I see it every day within me. I see it when I encounter my co-workers, my family and friends...in politics, on TV--everywhere! Then I was absolutely filled with peace to know that this battle was already decided by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. That dark hour echoed into eternity and defeated the evil one forever.
forever.
Forever.

FOREVER.
FOREVER!
It was astounding to remember that I am the daughter of the Lord of all. I pray that you, too, can remember this fact. This journey need not be dark. His brilliance will shine into Your life despite the darkness trying to penetrate into any crevasse it can find. (In fact, it cannot live in any other place but crevasses). Keep the grace of the Son shining in all areas of your life and darkness will not overcome.
